redemption

I was a little disoriented and confused today about whether or not I should attend church today. All week I have been feeling unease about some cituations that were going on that where troubling my family. As I listen to a cd that a good friend of mine gave me when she and her husband went to calvary this past summer, the title to it was dont worry.. As I listen very carefully , I was able to received the message that was sent to me. What was told to me was that any battles that are in my life are really not mine but the lord's. My issue was to trust him and throw my hands in the air and let him solve the problems that are not physically within my jurisdiction. The reverend that I was listening to her name is Jenny Smart. From what I gather she has been married for 37 years for she was celebrating her anniversary and her husband is a pastor as well. I thought it was awesome to have a couple think of nothing better to do on their anniversary than go to calvary and get closer to the lord. It was worth my time to listen to this specific reverend. Her message was loud and clear , not all the battles are ours and we have to learn to trust the lord more . I went to church today thinking I was not going to feel comfortable because of the instances I was talking about earlier, but I actually received a good message. I as a human need to have faith that I am worth receiving an anointment from the lord.

An elder from my church always has a psalm he says and it goes a little something like this....

" I love the lord he hears my cries, with heartache and pain, i love to praise his name. "

All the time I look back at my life, I love the lord more and more and i'm greatful to know how much blessings I have received from him.

" I LOVE YOU LORD AND THANK YOU FOR SENDING JESUS CHRIST TO DIE ON THAT CROSS FOR MY SINS' FOR WITHOUT HIM OUR SALVATION AS HUMANS MIGHT HAVE BEEN DOOM. SO THANK YOU FOR LOVING US SO MUCH"

Sermon part 2

The homilectical structure of sermon preparation and sermon classification is by structure. (3 types of structure)
one of the most common methods of structure is the

a) Textual sermom: In the textual sermon the divisions come from the text. The text provides the subject and major divisions of the sermon. A single subject is drain from the text and then it is discussed under the divisions the text furnishes. In many ways the textual sermon is the easiest format.

The textual sermon should follow this format:

1A) Find a specific subject from the text
2A) Look for seperate ideas and divisions
3A) It is not always necessary to follow the natural order of the text although it is more easy and convinient, but it is not obligatory.
4A) The preacher need not use every part of the text. He should have the wisdom to omit. The material omitted can be used at another for another sermon.

B) The Topical Sermon- You are given a topic or subject to preach on or you are drawn to preach on a specific topic or theme ( subject) even before you have found a biblical text that sheds any light on that issue or topic. (at this time you pray and ask god to give you a text and you may also use your own concordance and knowledge of the word (text). The goal of topical preaching is not just giving info. but why this topic important to us today as christmas....

Sermon Preparation

There are two types of sermonpreparation..
1) topic or theme given to you to preach on
2)pray and ask god what does your congregation you are preaching to needs to hear...
Always seek God for direction and guidance. Pray and ask God to give you a subject and title. Then ask God to give you or lead you to the text you will use. The spiritknows what your congregation needs spiritually, how many there will be, type of people and gender of the majority of the congregation.
3) When you are given a theme or text you can look at your concordance to find the text you will use. There are good concordances you can use. The strongs concordance will also have the word in greek and their meaning as to the greek text. Try to use both the O.T. and the N.T. in your sermons.
You can give a history of your text
ie: Who wrote the book?
Dates/times the book was written
Background of what was going on during the time of your text.
Try to answer the five w's and how.
Remember you don't always have to give this info. but it is a way to lengthen your sermon if you have the time to do it...
5) Once the preacher has their subject, title and text they should now study the text so that they may now exegese it...
The theme or subject should be suitable to the themegiven to you, or to the time, place and occassion ie:
Easter preach on the resurrection of christ
Christmas on the birth of christ. In doing so this the preacher is able to take advantage of the sentiment already existing in the minds his/her people in favor of their theme (subject).
Exegesis is the breaking dow of the text into such a way that people can understand the five w's of the text(scriptures verses) they are using

My heavenly father has provided me with life and joy. I have a beautiful home . Four beautiful children and Two granddaughters. A husband and all but not least my dog snoop. As i sit and think about all whats wrong with today i can clearly see that I am a very lucky person and therefore i can say what a beautiful day, is today...
