The time you spend in the solitary study of scripture will always pay off because things you read and ponder while alone will come rushing to mind in the midst of a moment in ministry , whether preaching ,teaching, counseling or ministering to someone...

Take Time for your Heart Psalm119:11

We need to study the word of God and internalize it so that it guides and directs our own lives as much as we hope it will guide and direct the lives of those to whom we preach. Hiding the word in your heart is to be contrasted with holding great amounts of scripture in your head; verses that can be quoted from memory as the need arises.
